In 2009, a rapper from Ontario showed up at the Last Chance Slam at Victoria Event Centre. His name was Made Wade, and that night he surprised many in the national community when he beat out most of the competitors and took one of the four available spots, forming a team with Truth Is…, Magpie Ulysses, and the late Zaccheus Jackson. But by week’s end – after they had beat down a huge portion of the competition, dropping freshly written team pieces along the way – there was no surprise when that team made their way to national finals. Which really goes to show, never write off the Last Chance team!
