Holy wow! Magpie Ulysses, with James Lamb, will be bringing her phenomenal show Past Presence; Pleiotropy & the impossible cycle of being, and we are very fortunate that is the case.
Last time Festival of Health Research came to Victoria, Magpie was on the last chance slam team with Truth Is…, Made Wade, and Zaccheus Jackson. They made finals, and Magpie destroyed with a poem on finals stage she wrote that day. Because that’s what she does.
Now she returned with James Lamb in tow, full of spit and vinegar and mind-blowing strings of words. And this show has been blowing audiences away for some time now, all over the country. But don’t take my word for it: take a gander at this preview from the 2013 Calgary Spoken Word Festival (and check the cameo from Kris Demeanor!)
Magpie Ulysses will be involved in three events at Festival of Health Research 2014:
Past Presence; Pleiotropy & the impossible cycle of being, Thursday, October 16, Victoria Event Centre at 5:00 PM
Coaching the Slam, Friday, October 17, Rifflandia HQ at 2:00 PM
Save a Tree: Speak a Poem, Saturday, October 18, Rifflandia HQ at 2:00 PM
